Karachi: As per the Ramzanul Mubarak Ordinance, all liquor shops/stores will remain closed throughout the province during Ramzan, said Sindh Excise Minister Mukesh Kumar Chawla, according to a handout issued Tuesday.

Chawla while presiding over a meeting at his office said if the owners of liquor shops/stores do not follow the directives, then their licenses will be cancelled and other legal actions will be taken against them. Secretary Excise and Taxation Manzoor Memon, Shoaib Siddiqui and others attended the meeting. Furthermore the minister instructed concerned officials to check the stocks of liquor at all the stores before Ramzan so that it could well be tallied on suspicions of sale during the holy month. – Dailytimes
