PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Syed Zahir Ali Shah said on Monday that the government had made arrangements to combat dengue fever in all the districts of the province. Fumigation had started and mosquito nets were being provided in all districts to control the killer disease, said the minister while talking to the media after launching a health drive. Shah said isolation wards had been established in various hospitals and patients were being given treatment. “Hopefully, we’ll soon control the disease,” said the health minister. As compared to Punjab and Sindh provinces, added the minister, the situation was much better in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Zahir said the World Health Organisation (WHO) was supporting the province and bearing expenses on tests. The minister said the coming weather would play a big and decisive role and the virus would subside after rain. He directed the health officials to issue day-to-day press releases to keep the public informed. zakir hassnain – Dailytimes
